Genotyping of mussels sampled in each generation produced in the laboratory will be carried out to evaluate metrics such as allele frequency, rate of dissemination of the CRISPR construct, emergence of possible resistance mutations, among others. Genotyping can involve techniques such as DNA extraction, PCR, dissociation curve analysis, electrophoresis, DNA sequencing and sequence analysis with bioinformatics tools.
