João Gabriel Rodinho
Master in Biological Sciences

I have a Master’s degree in Biological Sciences from the Carlos Chagas Filho Biophysics Institute (IBCCF – UFRJ) and I am currently a PhD student at the institution.

From my first contact with biology, I had an enormous interest in the area, which motivated me to study Biotechnology during high school. While at university, I learned that I also liked programming and got to know Bioinformatics, which allowed me to combine programming and biology into one. With bioinformatics, we are able to use computing to extract information from the almost always gigantic biological data.

At the Bio Bureau, I have the chance, together with my colleagues, to apply our knowledge to help solve real-world problems. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family, play soccer with my friends and cheer on my Vasco team. Carioca da gema, I love a good samba and I support the school from the neighborhood where I was raised – Vila Isabel.
