The project for biotechnological control of the golden mussel was inspired by basic research at the Environmental Molecular Biology Laboratory of the Carlos Chagas Filho Biophysics Institute at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, which took part in the CNPq\/MMA task force for golden mussel control in 2005 and completed the sequencing of the golden mussel genome<\/a> in 2017. <\/span><\/p>\n
