The golden mussel genome<\/a> was partially funded by Brazil’s first successful scientific crowdfunding campaign. Our campaign on the catarse platform reached the goal of raising R$40,000 in 60 days, with the collaboration of 361 supporters. The reward? Lend your name to one of the genes in the genome.<\/p>\n In addition to the funds raised, the campaign was a success in terms of scientific communication, with widespread spontaneous media coverage, such as the article in Craques do financiamento<\/a> in Galileu magazine.<\/p>\n
